This Gibson Custom Shop ES-335 Rich Robinson 63 VOS is a marvelous limited edition. The guitar sports a superb VOS Cherry Nitrocellulose finish and Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups for outstanding vintage tone. It features a 1.711 nut width, small block fingerboard inlays, aged vintage binding, and a custom made plaque covering the stop tailpiece holes.

When Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson lost his workhorse 63 ES-335 in a flood, Gibson was able to recreate his main axe in VOS (vintage original spec) detail. A slim taper neck with a wider nut, dual Burstbuckers and a Bigsby set this signature 335 apart. The limited run from 2014 of only 500 pieces, each numbered on the back of the headstock, this specific one being 301 of 500

  Gibson Memphis 2017 ES-335

  The ES-335 has been a legendary tone machine since 1958. Gibson s 2017 incarnation features a tubeless Historic truss rod, PAF-style Burstbucker 1 & 2 pickups which are made in the image of the hallowed PAF humbucker with a little extra power in the bridge position, and redesigned neck shape for increased strength and enhanced playing comfort. The small-block elegance captures the desirable look of the ES-335 of the early to mid 60s. The neck has redesigned dimensions which has improved the strength and playability of the new ES-335 s necks while the historic truss rod has no tube, proven to enhance the guitar s resonance and sustain. Durable titanium bridge saddles enhance sustain, presence and clarity while a locking stopbar tailpiece improves vibrational transfer to maximize sustain.
